Cyprus offers free coronavirus treatment and care: The government promises that anyone who becomes infected with the virus during their holiday in the island country will pay for all the costs of vacationing and curing.

According to the leaflet, the person concerned only has to pay the transfer / taxi price and the return flight ticket.

The five-page offer was distributed by the Cypriot government to airlines and travel agents on Tuesday. In addition to the offer, of course, the government will also address the strict hygiene standards that Cyprus will have to meet in order to become a well-functioning system.

For potential foreign infected, there is a 100-bed hospital, which is strictly for the treatment of foreign tourists only. A 500-seat "quarantine hotel" will be set up for family members.

Cyprus is the 5th safest country in the world in terms of travel in 2020 and the first safest in the Mediterranean! In less than 2 months, the crown virus was eradicated on the island. On Cyprus, the percentage of infection per capita is among the lowest among European countries. More than a tenth of the island nation’s population has already been tested.

Entry will take place in two phases, the first from 9-19 June and the second from 20 June at the discretion of the government.

Entry is only possible from countries where the health situation was considered adequate and low risk factor, which were also divided into two categories.

The first category includes Hungary, Greece, Malta, Bulgaria, Norway, Austria, Finland, Slovenia, Israel, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia and Lithuania.

The second category is Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Estonia and the Czech Republic.

In the first phase, from 9 to 19 June, from both categories, entry to the island may be made if the passenger is able to demonstrate a negative coronavirus test not older than 72 hours before boarding. As of June 20, travellers from the first category countries will not be required to present any health vouchers.

Of course, they are constantly monitoring the situation of other countries and can reach Cyprus from other countries in the future! But in the meantime, all countries not classified above will be allowed to enter separately, with special permits and other strict entry conditions.

The following news relates to the Republic of Cyprus. Northern Cyprus has independent regulations. The border crossings between the two sides are not open yet.
